Canada Goose is dropping a bold and pricy new luxury footwear collection

Venerable Canadian luxury outdoor brand Canada Goose announced a new line of winter boots today, revealing two models and a new campaign that celebrates what it means to be a force of nature and profiles three remarkable personalities.

The Live in the Open campaign for the new Canada Goose Footwear line features Romeo Beckham; Indigenous artist and activist, Sarain Fox; and Indigenous leader and former NHL player, Jordin Tootoo.

"The launch of Canada Goose Footwear is one of the most significant milestones in our more than six-decade history. We are bringing a completely new perspective to the category, balancing performance and luxury – which is the ultimate expression of our lifestyle brand," said Dani Reiss, president & CEO, Canada Goose. "A Force of Nature is strong, dynamic and confident; all characteristics that Canada Goose enables."

The campaign was shot in Squamish and Whistler, BC where the three leads share their stories in a compelling way.

"Growing up, I have always been taught that hard work pays off. To make my dream of playing professional football a reality, I was focused and dedicated," said Beckham. "To me, Live in the Open means pushing forward and being motivated to achieve great things. I am excited to be teaming up with Canada Goose to inspire that idea."

The campaign is designed to showcase something entirely new for Canada Goose, which gained popularity and more than a bit of notoriety, for its parkas designed for extreme cold weather and lined with fur collars. The brand has gained a solid foothold as a trendy yet functional winter mainstay. And that's the formula the brand is looking to replicate with its new footwear offerings.

The collection begins with two products: the Snow Mantra Boot and the Journey Boot.

The Snow Mantra, $1395

The Snow Mantra is the leader of the pack and part of a line that includes the Snow Mantra Parka, dubbed the warmest coat on earth. So, clearly if one is planning a trip to the North Pole, these are the boots for the trip. According to Canada Goose, the boots have been designed to withstand extreme conditions and were tested "on the icy tundra of the Canadian north."

Some unique features of the Snow Mantra include:

  • Tested to keep your feet warm in extreme temperatures, as low as -30 degrees Celsius
  • Mid-sole is durable and comfortable
  • Targeted insulation where your foot needs it the most (recommended by polar explorer Ben Saunders)
  • Fail-safes from a closure system perspective; 4 different wearing options between zipper and tie closures
  • Fast and easy on and off design to minimize exposure time from harsh environments, designed to be easily put on and taken off while wearing gloves
  • Removable liner: helpful for drying boots out overnight
The Journey Boots, $795

Canada Goose's Journey Boots are less winter and more adventurous hiker with a stylish look complete with squared off-toe, which was apparently inspired by "classic Hiker boots worn in the Alps."

Some unique features of the Journey Boots are as follows:

  • The soft and flexible upper is constructed from just 3 pieces, eliminating seams to reduce pressure points and rubbing. This creates a flexible boot that will mold to the wearer’s foot over time, ensuring a custom fit for enduring use.
  • The midsole is the same material used in the Snow Mantra Boot, providing cushion and superior performance, while the midfoot has an added stabilizer to support through the arch for comfort on long hikes and daily commutes.
  • The outsole’s deep tread design was inspired by a Canadian maple leaf, and provides excellent grip and flexibility. The diamond ‘wave’ texture across the base of the sole reduces weight, and the shape references the diamond stitch detail from our outerwear.

The footwear collection launches Nov. 12 in North America and both boot models will be available in-store and online.
